Matt Farrell reports that all riders have cleared the Fox Gap controle. Last rider through was Michelle Dulieu at 9:35AM ... this puts her on pace to reach Hallstead around 10:30PM, which would allow for a good rest before starting the 2nd day.
The tandem team of Victor Urvantsev and Kate Marshall broke their chain at the bottom of the climb -- they got it fixed, but they might be interested in an 8-speed quick link, if any volunteers happen to have any.
Craig Martek had some mechanical problems with his derailleur pully wheels ... he had them all disassembled at one point, but everything seems to be OK now.
The hot chocolate and instant soup seemed to hit the spot this time, for many riders.
So far, the riders appears to be making good progress to the overnight controle, but there's still some very challenging terrian ahead of them ... and perhaps the pace will slow down a bit, as their initial exuberance begins to wane...
